New Talk Radio Station Comes To Greenville SC

From 2002 to 2004 I was the Director of Sales for Entercom Greenville, including NewsRadio WORD. There were constant rumors that another talk station was coming to Greenville. Well, it took another 8 years but it happened. Salem Communications launched Conservative Talk 94.5 FM yesterday.

The interesting angle is that Mike Gallagher has been syndicated for years but began his radio career in Greenville and has close ties to the area. But he is syndicated by Salem Communications, new owner of  Conservative Talk 94.5 so he is now on the new station. Laura Ingraham replaces Gallagher on NewsRadio WORD. Salem Communications announced the purchase of the stations in August. The 100,000 Watt FM station was once owned by Bob Jones University.

Besides Mike Gallagher, syndicated shows include Bill Bennett, Dennis Prager, Michael Medved, Hugh Hewitt, and Mark Levin. Jane Robelot will anchor morning news starting next month. Robelot was once the CBS Morning News Co-Host and is a native of Greenville.
