When you send an email, you will now have the option of including a file that's stored in your Google Drive online storage. Since it's stored online, all recipients have access to the same up-to-date version of the file. You can do this without leaving Gmail.
Done this way, you can easily share files via email that are up to 10 Gigabytes in size.
Gmail also allows you to change how the files are shared and will remind you if you did not grant access to any of the email recipients.
If you want to use this new feature, be sure you opt in to Gmail compose.
